At Budget 2026, it was announced that the EEG will be extended for one year, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

 

The Energy Efficiency Grant Singapore (EEG) was introduced to help local businesses cushion rising operational costs by co-funding energy-efficient equipment. Eligible SMEs can receive up to 70% support for pre-approved equipment under the Base Tier, capped at S$30,000.

What is the Energy Efficiency Grant Singapore?

The EEG co-funds the adoption of energy-efficient equipment in key sectors such as retail, food services, manufacturing, construction, maritime, and data centres.

The Two Tiers of EEG Support

  • Base Tier: Provides up to 70% co-funding for pre-approved equipment (up to S$30,000 per company).
  • Advanced Tier: Provides up to S$350,000 for larger equipment investments that demonstrate significant lifetime energy savings.

Who is Eligible for the EEG?

To qualify for Base Tier funding, your business must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a registered and operating entity in Singapore.
  • Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding (except for data centre users).
  • Have an annual group sales turnover of ≤ S$500 million.

Qualifying Pre-Approved Equipment

Under the Base Tier, businesses can upgrade essential operational systems, including:

  • 5-tick or high-efficiency commercial air conditioning systems
  • LED lighting systems
  • Commercial refrigeration and water heaters

  1. Identify Equipment: Choose pre-approved models that fit your operational layout.
  2. Obtain Official Quotations: Get formal quotes from certified equipment vendors.
  3. Submit via BGP: Submit your application on the Business Grants Portal before issuing purchase orders or making payments.
  4. Installation & Claims: Once approved, complete installation within 1 year and submit claims for disbursement.
